U-23 Azkals end AFC qualifier campaign with loss to Cambodia

BANGKOK--The Philippine U-23 Azkals lost in their final AFC U-23 Championship qualifier campaign against Cambodia, 1-3, at the Rajamangala Stadium on Tuesday night.

Chan Vathanaka opened a 16-minute surge by the Cambodians with a brace in the fifth and tenth minutes. Soeuy Visal capped the rally six minutes later.

Cambodia played solid defense on the Philippine side for the entirety of the regulation until Jorrel Aristorenas scored the consolation goal seconds into stoppage time.

The U-23 Azkals finished their quest for a spot in the said tournament, which serves as a qualifier for the 2016 Summer Olympics, without a win in three matches.
