PARAÑAQUE--Defending One Championship welterweight champion Ben Askren believes he can beat MMA veteran Luis Santos in the main event of the said promotion's "Valor of Champion" fight card at the Mall of Asia Arena on April 24.

On Friday at the Nobu Hotel inside the City of Dreams Complex, Askren, undefeated in 14 MMA fights since 2009, told Dugout Philippines, "I don’t think Santos brings anything new to the table for me. Even though he has 70 fights, I bring something new to the table because I have a skill set that is unique that no one can really give him the feel of it in practice."

While he admitted that the bout against Santos will be the biggest in his career, Askren is confident that he can give his opponent a difficult time inside the cage.

"He is definitely my toughest opponent yet, but even with 70 fights, he’s gonna have a tough time dealing with me," Askren added.

Meanwhile, he expressed excitement that his title defense will take place in the Pasay venue.

"I am very excited to fight in Manila and to show the fans here what I have under my belt. I love the great love and support shown by the fans here," Askren said.

He later vowed, "Get ready for the fight of the night!"
