CAGAYAN DE ORO--Batang Gilas continued to stomp its dominance in the SEABA U-16 Championship with a 105-48 rout of Thailand at the Xavier University Gym on Friday night.
The hosts pulled away in the last three quarters, even outscoring the Thais, 30-7, in the final frame, to win for the second straight time in the tournament.
Sam Belangel led the Philippine contingent, the reigning titleholder of the qualifier for the FIBA Asia U-16 Championship, with 16 points, eight assists, eight steals, and two rebounds, while Will Gozum added 13 points, eight rebounds, and a steal.
Including Belangel and Gozum, six Batang Gilas players finished in double figures. All but one player scored for the Filipino team.
