CAGAYAN DE ORO--Batang Gilas successfully defended its SEABA U-16 championship after a 106-50 rout of Indonesia on the final day of the five-nation youth basketball tournament at the Xavier University Gym.
The Filipinos opened the match with six straight points and pounced the Indonesian until the end to complete a 4-0 sweep of the tournament.
S.J. Belangel led Batang Gilas with 18 points, seven rebounds, and eight assists, while Jonas Tibayan added 14 points, nine rebounds, and three steals.
