QUEZON CITY--Make that a two-peat for Jayson Castro as the Best Player of the PBA Commissioner's Cup.

For the second straight year, Castro took the mid-season conference's top individual award for locals.

The announcement was made on Wednesday night before Game 4 of the Commissioner's Cup finals at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Castro tallied 1,164 points, way higher than second placer Paul Lee's 782.

In third was Junemar Fajardo with 542, while Terrence Romeo, with 408 points, barely beat Greg Slaughter for fourth place by just four points.

Castro, Talk 'n Text's spitfire guard, averaged 20.2 points, 4.7 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 1.2 steals a night from the eliminations until the semifinals.

Not known for his outside shooting in the early years of his career, Castro showed a vast improvement from long range as he made 48.5 percent of his three-pointers.
