Gilas Cadets trounce Brunei by 111 points

SINGAPORE--The Gilas Cadets smothered Brunei, 140-29, for their fourth straight win in the SEABA Championship at the OCBC Arena on Thursday night.

The Cadets opened the game on a 15-0 run and immediately turned it into a mauling, establishing their largest lead at 111 points just before the final buzzer.

Ray-Ray Parks led seven Philippine players in double figures with 19 points, making all but one of his ten field goal attempts, along with four assists and two steals.

Russel Escoto showed his extended range as he knocked down both of his three-point tries to highlight an 18-point game.

Ching Wei-Ming top-scored for Brunei, coached by former EAC Generals mentor Nomar Isla, with nine points.
 
The 111-point winning margin was the largest by a Philippine national basketball team since 2009.
