MANILA--Some of the news outfits which first reported Frankie Lim's appointment as Ginebra coach said that trades are expected to be consummated by the club.
On his first official day as the Gin Kings mentor, the former San Beda chief tactician called a former Red Lion for help.
Ginebra got Dave Marcelo from Barako Bull in a four-team trade approved by PBA Commissioner Chito Salud on Monday.
A week after both the Gin Kings and the Energy went for a trade sending seldom-used Dylan Ababou and James Forrester to the latter's camp, they pushed through with the deal involving the ex-King Lion, who was a vital cog for Lim during their championship days in the NCAA.
The transfer as initially a swap between Marcelo and Billy Mamaril, but the PBA's website revealed later Monday that GlobalPort and San Miguel also got involved in the deal.
The Batang Pier acquired Mamaril from the Gin Kings and Doug Kramer from the Beermen, who got Yancy De Ocampo and Gabby Espinas from the Batang Pier and sent Rico Maierhofer to the Energy.
