CAGAYAN DE ORO--Malaysia banked on a fourth quarter surge to beat Thailand, 80-66, in the second game of the SEABA U-16 Championship on Tuesday night at the Xavier University Gym.
Malaysia put on a tough defense and outscored Thailand, 27-12, in the final frame to tie Indonesia at the top of the team standings after Day 1 of the six-day qualifying tournament for the FIBA Asia U-16 Championship.
Thea Zhong led the Malaysians with 15 points, while Kalven Lim added 12.
