PASAY--Petron scored its eighth straight win in the PLDT Home Ultera-Philippine Super Liga All-Filipino Conference with a 25-19, 25-20, 25-14 win against a slumping Foton side at the Cuneta Astrodome on Thursday.
Dindin Manabat led the Blaze Spikers, who clinched the top seed in the semifinals, with 17 points on 14 spikes, two blocks, and an ace. Aby Maraño added 11 markers on seven attacks, two blocks, and two aces.
Pam Lastimosa had ten points on nine spikes and a block for the Lady Tornadoes, whose chances of getting the other outright semifinals berth took another hit as they lost their third straight match after winning three of their first four. The lone loss in their early run was against the Blaze Spikers.
Nicole Tiamzon, who has become a potent scoring threat for Foton, was limited to only three points on Thursday.
