PASAY--Shopinas needed to buck off a late rally by Cignal before hacking out a 25-18, 25-17, 32-30 win in their PLDT Home Ultera-Philippine Super Liga All-Filipino Conference match at the Cuneta Astrodome on Monday.
The Lady Clickers appeared to be cruising to an easy win after leading, 22-17, late in the third set, but the HD Spikers scored five straight to tie the set.
Paneng Mercado looked to have restored order for Shopinas as she sent the team to match point, but Michelle Segodine and Charisse Ancheta led another Cignal run to stretch the set to seven deuces.
Arianna Angustia and Riza Mandapat clinched the win for the Lady Clickers with timely hits in the end.
Mercado, Mandapat, and Angustia had 11, ten, and eight points respectively to help Cha Cruz, who finished with 13, in scoring for Shopinas, which was fresh from a heartbreaking five-set defeat to Petron.
Cherry Vivas led Cignal with 11 markers.
