PASAY--Reigning NCAA MVP Scottie Thompson expressed happiness to be part of the Gilas Cadets pool being trained for the future international competitions.

Speaking to sportswriters during the second victory party of PBA D-League club Hapee, where he is part of the team, the Perpetual Help triple-double machine said, "Sobrang saya. Ma-iinspired pa akong maglaro. Sobrang blessed."

However, he admitted that his schedule became more hectic because of his national team duties.

Thompson said that he is now training two or three times a day, but he also added that he somehow balances his basketball work.

He also expressed his excitement on going overseas to play basketball with the Gilas Cadets.

"Sobrang excited na po akong makalaro sa ibang bansa," Thompson continued.

Thompson is part of the pool being considered by Coach Tab Baldwin to represent the Philippines in the SEABA Tournament and the SEA Games.
