MANILA--The UFC Fight Night is nearing, and the world's top MMA promotion lined up a full blast of events leading to the actual fight night at the Mall of Asia Arena on May 16.
Fans will get a first taste of what to expect come the Saturday night showcase as the fighters led by main event protagonists Urijah Faber and Frankie Edgar will have an open workout at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall on May 13 at 6 p.m.
The following day at the Solaire Grand Ballroom at 11:30 a.m., the fighters will meet the press and even some lucky MMA fans in the ultimate media day where reigning UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson, former The Ultimate Fighter mentor Miesha Tate, bantamweight fighter Bryan Caraway, and heavyweight star Alistair Overeem will also make an appearance. Overeem came to the country last month and will return once more for the fight night.
On May 15 at 4:30 p.m., the official weigh-in will take place at the Mall of Asia Arena, and on the night after, Faber and Edgar will go at it for a shot at a possible world title fight in the main event of the scheduled 12-bout card at the said venue. Gates will open at 4:30 p.m. for the fight night which will start at 7 p.m.
Also, Mark Munoz will make one final appearance in the octagon as he will take on Luke Barnatt in the co-main event.
