Oraeme flirts with 20-20 as Mapua blasts Lyceum

By Ivan Saldajeno

SAN JUAN, MM—In the first four years of Lyceum in the NCAA, it has gotten the better of Mapua in most of their meetings.

If the result of their FilOil Flying V Preseason Premier Cup showdown on Friday is to be considered, the tides could change.

The Cardinals immediately raced to a double-digit lead and clobbered the Pirates, 81-65, at the FilOil Flying V Arena.

Mapua limited Lyceum to only five points in the second quarter and held on to its huge lead until the end.

Allwell Oraeme just missed out on a 20-20 as he made 21 points and 19 rebounds along with four blocks for the Cardinals.

On the other hand, Josan Nimes, who fired 28 points against La Salle on Wednesday, unleashed his passing game as he dished out six assists.

Wilson Baltazar led the Pirates with 13 points, but he only shot 3-of-15 on the floor.
