San Beda wallops UP, 96-71

SAN JUAN, MM—San Beda bounced back from a big loss to CEU with a 96-71 rout of UP in their FilOil Flying V Preseason Premier Cup clash at the FilOil Flying V Arena on Friday.

The Red Lions blew the game wide open in the second quarter, taking a 35-16 with 5:43 left in the period.

The Fighting Maroons got a late rally to cut the lead to 11, 42-31, at halftime.

San Beda once again stretched the lead to 21, 58-37, with 3:42 left in the third before UP came to within nine, 55-64, with 9:33 remaining in the fourth.

The Red Lions clinched the win after dominating the rest of the payoff period.

Ola Adeogun led San Beda with 20 points and nine rebounds in 16 minutes of play.

Baser Amer, a recent addition to the Gilas Cadets team to the Southeast Asian Games, contributed ten points, five assists, and two steals.

Diego Dario and Paul Desiderio chipped in 14 points each for UP, which has now lost five straight games.
