Third quarter blitz pushes CSB past Adamson

SAN JUAN, MM—CSB used a third quarter run to pull away from Adamson with a 79-68 win in their FilOil Flying V Preseason Premier Cup clash on Wednesday at the FilOil Flying V Arena.

The Blazers outscored the Soaring Falcons, 24-11, in the third quarter to turn a 36-38 halftime deficit to a 60-49 lead entering the fourth period. The Blazers held on to the lead in the last ten minutes.

Jonathan Grey led CSB, now at 3-3, with 15 points, two rebounds, and two assists off the bench.

Fons Saavedra and J.R. Ongteco each added 12 markers with Ongteco grabbing 16 rebounds and Saavedra dishing six assists.

J.D. Tungcab exploded for 25 points for Adamson, but he committed four turnovers.

Joseph Nalos, on the other hand, was sent off in the second quarter after being whistled for a disqualifying foul.

The win actually completed a double for the Blazers against the Soaring Falcons as their juniors counterparts, the La Salle Greenhills Greenies, triumphed over the Adamson Baby Falcons, 67-61, in the lone high school offering earlier Wednesday.
