McMorrow shows force as Barako Bull's impressive Govs Cup continues

QUEZON CITY--Liam McMorrow put up glaring stats as Barako Bull won for the sixth time in the PBA Governors' Cup at the expense of GlobalPort, 123-114, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Sunday.

McMorrow made 41 points in just 15 shots while tallying 27 rebounds, two assists, three steals, and a block for the Energy, who stretched their best conference start in franchise history.

Barako Bull started the game on an 11-1 run, but GlobalPort slowly bounced back and took a 48-39 lead late in the second quarter.

The Energy slowly chopped the Batang Pier's lead and eventually retook it, 89-80, with 11:29 remaining in the game.

GlobalPort made an 11-0 run and led for the last time, 91-89, with 9:29 remaining, but a 15-4 run by Barako put the team up for good, 104-95, with 5:51 left.

The Batang Pier had one more chance to steal the win as they came to within four, 110-114, with 1:15 left in the game.

The Energy, however, secured the win as Willie Wilson and J.C. Intal made crucial free throws down the stretch.

Intal added 14 points, eight rebounds, and a steal even as Joseph Yeo contributed 19 points, ten assists, and a block for Barako, which now leads fellow streaking side San Miguel by a half-game.

Jarrid Famous also had a 20-20 of his own as he led GlobalPort with 32 points and 22 rebounds along with three assists and a steal. Terrence Romeo made 30 points, two rebounds, six assists, and two steals.
