MANILA--Football fans nationwide erupted on social media Tuesday night when a tweet bared that Barcelona star Gerard Pique is in the Philippines.
Myx VJ Erica Abello posted a picture of her with Pique after a dinner party on Twitter.

Football.com.ph writer Ceres Lina later tweeted that Pique was at Solaire that night and may likely stay there for a few more days. It was uncertain if his wife, singer Shakira, also joined him in the vacation.
The news came to the delight of the Filipino football fans, especially those who follow Pique's career with Barca, which recently won a treble in European club play.
