SAN JUAN, MM--CEU continued its impressive performance in the FilOil Flying V Preseason Premier Cup after ending its elimination phase with an 85-76 victory over SWU at the FilOil Flying V Arena on Saturday.

The Scorpions banked on their defense in the second half, holding the Cobras to only 33 points in the last 20 minutes to finish the preliminaries with a 7-1 record. The reigning NAASCU champions can take the top spot in Group B if the San Beda Red Lions prevail over the UE Red Warriors in a game being played as of press time.

Rodrigue Ebondo nearly tallied a double-double with 18 point and nine rebounds for CEU, which shot 48 percent from the field.

Boko Mupungo completed his own 10-10 bid as he made 17 markers and ten boards for SWU, which finished its campaign with a 2-6 record, a far cry from last year's semifinal run.
