PASAY--Every time Meralco and Talk 'n Text meet in a PBA game, fans usually expect that the latter, the flagship club of the MVP umbrella, will easily handle its sister squad.
Sometimes, if Talk 'n Text goes down in defeat, it is anticipated that Meralco's win is relatively close.
On Tuesday night, however, it was a totally different result.
The Bolts clamped down the Tropang Texters all game long and won, 119-85, at the Mall of Asia Arena in a PBA Governors' Cup clash.
Meralco led from the opening tipoff and immediately built a double-digit advantage over Talk 'n Text.
The Bolts then unleashed their executioner's ax on the Tropang Texters, taking a 36-16 fourth quarter edge to end the match with their largest margin at 34.
Andre Emmett scored 36 points on 13-of-20 shooting, seven rebounds, two assists, and a steal for the Bolts, who posted their most lopsided win in team history. Sean Anthony added 24 points, 12 rebounds, six assists, and a steal.
Steffphon Pettigrew tallied 21 points, 13 rebounds, two steals, and a block for the Tropang Texters, who have now lost back-to-back games.
