Pascual keeps clean sheet as Green Archers shock Kaya

MANILA—Playing against a team with a good number of go-to guys and a new coach, Green Archers United goalkeeper Paolo Pascual found himself in a huge test on Wednesday night.

He prevailed with flying colors.

Pascual succeeded in helping Green Archers blank Kaya as the mid-table club pulled off a 2-0 upset win in their UFL second round meeting at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

Pascual saved 11 Kaya shots including crucial attempts in the second half as Green Archers' defense proved to be tough against the opposition's offense.

On the attacking side, Boyet Cañedo put Green Archers up as his 25th minute shot hit the post and landed inside the goal line.

Robert Mendy duplicated as he converted a penalty kick in the 36th minute.

With the win, Green Archers gave Fabien Lewis a rude welcome as Kaya's new chief tactician.
