SAN JUAN, MM--Perpetual Help ended its FilOil Flying V Preseason Premier Cup preliminary campaign with an 86-76 win over NU at the FilOil Flying V Arena on Saturday.
With the match already a no-bearing one following the results of Friday's game, both the Altas and the Bulldogs played the first quarter as if everything was still on the line. The Altas led, 18-17, at the end of the period.
The Altas later pulled away in the third quarter, building a 13-point cushion at the end of the quarter and held on to the win.
Three days after sizzling for 35 points and 20 rebounds, Bright Akhuetie had a more quiet performance as he made 21 markers and three boards along with three assists, three steals, and one block for Perpetual Help, which will finish in second place in Group A. Gerald Dizon added 16 points, four rebounds, and four assists.
J-Jay finished with 16 points, three rebounds, and two assists for NU, which got eliminated from playoff contention following FEU's win over EAC on Friday.
The Altas will await on the outcomes of the remaining games on Saturday to determine their quarterfinal opponent.
