Fencer Justine Tinio won a silver medal in the women's individual foil on Wednesday night.
Tinio assured the Filipino contingent of a medal after trouncing Vietnamese Thi Anh Do, 15-11, in the quarterfinals.
Tinio later defeated another Vietnamese fencer, Thi Hoai Thu Nguyen, in the semifinals, 15-6, to earn a seat in the final.
Tinio settled for the silver after losing to Wang Wenying of Singapore, 7-15, in the championship game.
