UST stays in FilOil playoff hunt with win over SWU

SAN JUAN, MM—UST kept its FilOil Flying V Preseason Premier Cup playoff hopes alive after downing SWU, 66-59, at the FilOil Flying V Arena on Wednesday.

Ed Daquioag led the way for the Growling Tigers, who are without SEA Games-bound Kevin Ferrer and injured Louie Vigil, with 22 points, seven rebounds, and six assists. Mario Bonleon added 14 points, ten rebounds, and seven assists.

Daryl Goloran tallied 16 points, 12 rebounds, and two assists for the Cobras, who dropped to 1-5.

UST, now at 4-3, can take the last quarterfinal seat in Group B if it beats La Salle on Saturday.
