Alaska rallies to take semis opener versus Star

QUEZON CITY--Alaska fought back from 18 points down to take down Star, 97-91, at the start of their best-of-five PBA Governors' Cup semifinal series at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Wednesday night.

The Aces trailed, 23-41, with 4:06 left in the first half but rallied to take a 68-67 lead with 33.7 seconds left in the third quarter.

The Hotshots would still tie the game to end the third, but the Aces gained control of the fourth to take the 1-0 lead in the race to three wins.

Romeo Travis tallied 28 points, ten rebounds, three assists, two steals, and two blocks for top-seeded Alaska.

Marqus Blakely made 23 points, nine rebounds, two assists, three steals, and three for Star.
