MANILA--Ceres will embark on the first of three tries to officially take the UFL championship as the club battles Socceroo on Saturday at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
Needing only a draw to win the title, Ceres can clinch it as early as Saturday against a Socceroo side which the team beat, 4-0, on April 21.
After the Socceroo match, which will kick off at 5:15 p.m., Ceres will have Stallion on Aug. 2 and Manila Jeepney in the final day of the season on Aug. 5.
The Ceres-Socceroo game will be the main highlight of a Saturday triple-header at the said venue.
The other Division 1 action will pit off Green Archers and Global at 7:45 p.m., while the curtain-raiser will have Division 2 sides Forza and Mendiola at 2:45 p.m.
Global will try to solidify its hold of second place against Green Archers, which held the reigning league champion to a draw in their first meeting right at the start of the season on Feb. 7.
On the other hand, Forza and Mendiola will battle in a no-bearing Division 2 match since Laos already earned the lone promotion spot on Thursday night against Pasargad.
