SAN JUAN, MM--Jonathan Grey and Travis Jonson got the big game they needed to lift CSB to a 73-66 win over EAC in their NCAA battle at the FilOil Flying V Arena on Tuesday.
Grey and Jonson led the way with 19 and 18 points respectively as the Blazers notched their first win in Season 91 after suffering back-to-back defeats.
CSB smothered EAC in the first quarter, limiting its opponent to only seven points in the first ten minutes.
The Generals appeared to gain some momentum as they sizzled in the last six minutes of the second quarter to cut the Blazers' lead to nine, 36-27, at halftime.
CSB sizzled again on defense in the third period, only allowing 12 EAC points in the quarter and opening a 55-39 cushion heading to the fourth.
The Generals then went on a 16-5 run to start the fourth and cut the Blazers' edge to five, 60-55, with three minutes left.
But a four-point play from Jonson snapped the rally and stretched the lead to nine, 64-55, with 2:33 remaining.
EAC tried one final push, but a dunk and a triple from Grey pulled CSB out of the woods.
Christ Mejos tallied 17 markers for the Generals, who lost for the second straight time this season.
