MANILA--With everyone's sight on the ongoing PBA Governors' Cup semifinals, virtually only a few saw this trade coming.
Blackwater and Barako Bull swung a trade on Wednesday that saw Brian Heruela and Carlo Lastimosa swapping jerseys.
In the transfer approved by outgoing commissioner and incoming CEO Chito Salud and officially announced on Thursday, Heruela, the Elite's third round pick which became one of the spark plugs of their maiden PBA campaign, will join a guard-laden Energy roster in exchange for Lastimosa, who saw his minutes dwindle in his second season.
Heruela averaged 10.6 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 5.2 assists in 33.1 minutes of action for Blackwater, while Lastimosa made 6.9 points, 1.1 rebounds, and 0.6 assists in 12.2 minutes of play for Barako this season.
