MANDALUYONG—Former Denver Nuggets head coach Shaw will headline the NBA Fit Week as he will lead in training Filipino basketball players in the second year of the Gatorade-NBA Training Center at the Gatorade Hoops Center on July 29.
Following an announcement by NBA Philippines and Gatorade on Monday, Shaw, who won NBA titles with the Los Angeles Lakers as a player alongside Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal at the turn of the millennium, will do training to young ballers together with Ginebra star L.A. Tenorio and college basketball standouts Jeron Teng, Gelo Alolino, Von Pessumal, Mike Tolomia, and Kevin Ferrer.
“I look forward to visiting Manila and witnessing first-hand the passion of the Filipino players and coaches,” said Shaw. “The Philippines has produced great basketball talent, and I’m excited to share my knowledge with the participants to help them take that next step.”
After the Mandaluyong training session, Shaw will participate in an NBA Cares event together with Project Pearls in Bocaue on July 30 while capping his stay in the Philippines at the NBA Fit Adi Nation Skills Camp the day after.
