SMB sweeps Alaska to take Governors' Cup title

QUEZON CITY--San Miguel brought the brooms on Friday night.

The Beermen completed a 4-0 sweep of the PBA Governors' Cup finals with a 91-81 win against the Alaska Aces at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

San Miguel again needed a come-from-behind fashion to finish off Alaska.

The Aces led by 12 points, 49-37, at halftime, but the Beermen outscored them, 33-16, to take a 70-65 lead after three periods.

San Miguel stretched the lead to 16, 81-65, in the fourth quarter and never looked back as the won its 21st PBA title.

AZ Reid once again erupted for the Beermen as he made 33 points, six rebounds, four assists, and one block, while recently-crowned season MVP Junemar Fajardo added 19 points, 21 rebounds, one assist, two blocks, and three steals to cap a dominating performance that earned him the Finals MVP honors.

Calvin Abueva led Alaska with 22 points, 17 rebounds, three assists, and one block.
