SAN JUAN, MM--Ola Adeogun will not be around in San Beda's NCAA game against EAC on Tuesday as the league slapped a one-game suspension on him following his action during halftime of his team's game versus Arellano last Tuesday.
Adeogun vented his ire on the Red Lions' poor first half performance against the Chiefs and apparently kicked the glass door of their locker room, shattering the said door.
The NCAA declared the said incident an unsportsmanlike conduct on the part of Adeogun, meting him the ban in the process.
The league, upon consultation with the management of the FilOil Flying V Arena, also asked San Beda to pay for the damage done by Adeogun.
The incident seemed to have woken up the Red Lions and pulled off a huge third quarter en route to taking the lead, but the Chiefs bounced back in the final period and stole the 88-84 win to end the first round of eliminations.
San Beda's match against EAC, scheduled for a 2 p.m. tip-off, will officially start the second round of the preliminary phase.
With the absence of Adeogun, Donald Tankoua is expected to man the interior for the defending champions as they will try to repeat their dominance over the Chiefs in the first round.
In the 4 p.m. game, San Sebastian will try to complete unfinished business against Letran.
The Golden Stags nearly pulled off an upset against the Knights, but recently drafted Mark Cruz sparked the latter's late bid to keep their then unbeaten slate.
