MANILA--Maverick Ahanmisi expressed surprise after becoming the third pick in the PBA Draft at the Robinson's Place on Sunday.

"It was a shock for me, but I'm glad Rain Or Shine picked me," the former University of Minnesota Gopher and Cafe France Baker told the press after the announcement.

He also said that he was aware of mock drafts having him at the middle of the first round.

"I and my agent were talking about [the mock drafts], and I thought that I was gonna be around five to nine," Ahanmisi continued.

Ahanmisi also said that he is excited to team up with Paul Lee at the Elasto Painters camp.

Ahanmisi revealed, "I watch Paul Lee all the time. I love his style of play. That's why I'm glad I'm with his team. I can learn from him and Coach [Yeng] Guiao's style of play."
