SAN JUAN, MM--Mike Calisaan had a huge outing as San Sebastian turned back Lyceum, 77-70, in a battle of struggling NCAA teams at the FilOil Flying V Arena on Friday.
Calisaan took advantage of the absence of the Pirates' Joseph Gabayni due to suspension and punched in 35 points, 16 rebounds, one assists, two blocks, and one steal as he led the Golden Stags' rally in the second quarter.
After giving up 26 points in the first quarter, San Sebastian limited Lyceum to only nine points in the next ten minutes while scoring 28 to open a 48-35 halftime lead.
The Golden Stags never looked back despite a late Pirates rally in the fourth quarter that fell short.
Jamil Ortuoste added 15 points, eight rebounds, two assists, and two steals as San Sebastian snapped a four-game losing streak.
Shaq Alanes scored 17 points for the Pirates, but he was 7-of-20 from the field. Jean Nguidjol, on the other hand, contributed 14 points, 12 rebounds, one assist, three blocks, and two steals.
