Chiefs outlast Blazers to end two-game skid

SAN JUAN, MM--Arellano University inched a win over the College of Saint Benilde, 85-73, on Friday at the FilOil Flying V Arena in NCAA Season 91 ahead of its battle against five-time champion San Beda.

Zach Nicholls led the way for the Chiefs as he contributed 19 points. He was hot from beyond the arc, hitting five treys.

The Chiefs set a high note in the first canto, leaving a 13 point advantage over the Blazers, 30-17.

Arellano continued to surged as they build a 26 points lead in the third period.

Jiovani Jalalon added a double-double performance 13 points and 10 dimes for the Chiefs.

The 24-point output of Jonathan Grey was not enough to put up a victory for the Blazers.

The Chiefs, which stopped a two-game losing streak, improved their record to 5-3, tying the Jose Rizal Univeristy Heavy Bombers for the fourth spot, while the Blazers ended the first round with a 2-7 record.
