MANILA--Far Eastern University and University of the Philippines-Y rebounded from their opening day losses to win their respective matches in Group A, while UP-X and Chelsea Soccer School PH battled to a goalless stalemate in the lone Group B game of the second day of the PFF Women's Invitational Cup at the Rizal Memorial Stadium on Sunday.

FEU, the three-time defending UAAP champion and reigning Women’s Cup holder, recovered from a shock loss to Green Archers United Ladies as it took the talons away from Ateneo de Manila University, 4-0, in the curtain raiser.

A brace by Barbie Sobredo and a goal each by Jovelle Sudaria and Roselle Marie Lecera put FEU on the top of the Group A table ahead of GAU Ladies who had a match in hand.

UP-Y bounced back from a 0-2 loss to the Lady Eagles as it beat debuting Sikat 2-0 in the second Group A match.

Cristina Delos Reyes’ brace rained the debut of Natasha Alquiros on her new club.

The win by UP-Y pushed the team to third ahead of the Lady Eagles on goal difference.

In between both FEU and UP-Y's wins was the 0-0 result of UP-X and Chelsea.

Green Archers United Ladies and De La Salle University had their schedule byes on Sunday, while Lady Tamaraws and UST got a surprise day-off due to a late fixture change.

Originally a quadruple-header, the schedule was tweaked to make way for the UFL Cup Round of 16 matches in the evening., prompting the tournament officials to reschedule the supposed Lady Tamaraws-UST tiff.

Before the first whistle of every match, a minute of silence was observed to honor Stacey Villar, a 14-year-old booter from Cagayan De Oro who was murdered on Thursday.
