MANILA--After months of speculations and talks, it has finally happened. Troy Rosario ends up with Talk n' Text.
As per the final terms of the deal approved by the PBA commissioner Chito Narvasa on Tuesday, Talk 'n Text will send veteran player Rob Reyes and Sophomore guard Kevin Alas to Mahindra (formerly Kia Carnival) in exchange for the draft rights of Rosario, the second overall pick of the PBA Draft.
Mahindra, on the other hand, will once again trade Alas, this time to NLEX in exchange for role player Aldrech Ramos and impact player K.G. Cañaleta.
Talk n' Text, after tabbing top pick Moala Tautuaa in the draft, infused much needed youth into their aging lineup with the acquisition of Rosario, looking upon both Rosario and Tautuaa as anchors upon which to build the future of their franchise around on.
Mahindra, on the other hand, addresses their need for veteran impact players who can both show leadership and create much needed impact, immediately, to their young team.
NLEX, for its part, addresses its need for a reliable guard who can settle down the back court and dictate the tempo and the flow of both their offense and defense in Kevin Alas.
The trade came two days after Narvasa himself put it on hold right on draft day as he continues to learn his new role as the league's new top guy.
