MANILA--Manila West began it title defense of the FIBA 3x3 Manila Masters with a 21-18 win against Auckland at the Robinson's Place Manila on Saturday.
Recently-crowned PBA scoring champion Terrence Romeo led the way for Manila West as he helped the team also composed of K.G. Canaleta, Rey Guevarra, and Aldrech Ramos open a 12-6 lead over the quartet of Patrich Bolstad, Karl Noyer, John Harrison, and Lydon Aoake and never looked back.
Both the Philippine and the New Zealand-based teams will have Manila South next in their respective schedules, with Auckland being the first to test the mettle of the tournament's youngest team.
