MANILA--He may not be playing the same sport as the well-known athlete named Jordan, but when Jordan Mintah is summoned to soar, he will do it with no hesitation.
Mintah netted half of Stallion's goals and led the club to an 8-0 mauling of Socceroo in their UFL Cup clash at the Rizal Memorial Stadium on Sunday night.
Mintah opened Stallion's offensive in the fifth minute as he slotted the ball in off a Fitch Arboleda assist.
Mintah failed to quickly score a brace in the 11th minute as Baba Sampana got a piece of the ball. Balut Doctora, however, got the ball back and sent it inside the net for the 2-0 count.
Both Doctora and Mintah teamed up anew for Stallion's third goal as Doctora dished the assist to Mintah to get his brace in the 29th minute.
Ian Araneta and Christian Nana joined the goal spree as they netted goals in the 31st and the 32nd minutes respectively.
Even substitute Emmanuel Mbata contributed for Stallion in scoring as he made a 58th minute attack off a Nate Alquiros cross.
Mintah sealed the win with two more goals in the 75th and the 80th minutes.
Stallion booked a seat in the quarterfinals and will meet the winner of the Laos-Pachanga match on Saturday. The Laos-Pachanga match is being played as of posting.
On the other hand, the loss put an end to a sluggish season for Socceroo that saw the club being relegated to Division 2 after two seasons in Division 1.
