MANDALUYONG--Star team manager Alvin Patrimonio is set to meet with forward Marc Pingris about the latter's decision to skip from Gilas duties to help in Star's rebuilding.
Asked by sportswriters on Saturday night during an exhibition game at the House of Rise, the former four-time PBA MVP and Philippine Centennial Team member said, "Kailangan kong kausapin pa [si Marc]."
He later told that he would still respect his decision and that the management will throw its full support on him.
"It's Ping's decision pa rin, but nandito lang naman kami to guide him," Patrimonio continued.
Earlier on Saturday, Pingris formally told his decision not to join Gilas for the meantime to concentrate on Star's preseason buildup.
Some reports, however, said that he went emotional during his formal farewell.
