SAN JUAN, MM--In a game where Perpetual Help's "Big 3" were quiet, unsung heroes showed up.
Prince Eze and A.J. Coronel played huge as the Altas took solo third place with a 68-55 win over the EAC Generals in their NCAA clash at the FilOil Flying V Arena on Tuesday.
Eze and Coronel came off the bench and contributed 17 and 16 points respectively as Perpetual Help picked up steam in the final three quarters to take its second straight win while snapping EAC's own two-game streak.
In fact, the entire Altas bench led the charge as the group made 49 of the team's 68 points.
Eze added eight rebounds and two blocks, while Coronel had three boards, one assist, two steals, and one block of his own.
Gab Dagangon led the Altas' starters with eight markers, while fellow key players Scottie Thompson and Bright Akhuetie combined for 23 rebounds.
Perpetual's win, however, came at a price as Thompson injured his ankle in a rebounding scramble in the fourth quarter of the game.
Francis Munsayac had a game-high 18 points for the Generals, who actually mounted a mini-run after Thompson's injury but was snapped by the Altas' endgame dominance.
