MANILA--Rain Or Shine defied various mock drafts and went for Maverick Ahanmisi as the third overall pick of the PBA Draft at Robinson's Place Manila on Sunday.
The Elasto Painters took everyone by surprise by going for the 6-2 guard from the University of Minnesota, a projected middle to late first round selection in the said mock drafts, as the third pick. Dugout Philippines' mock draft had Ahanmisi at seventh.

Ahanmisi made his presence felt first at the Cafe France side in the PBA D-League. He helped the CEU-based squad capture its first D-League championship at the expense of title favorite Hapee in the Foundation Cup finals.
