SAN JUAN, MM--Scottie Thompson could sit out the NCAA All-Star Game on Friday after suffering from a back injury late in Perpetual Help's 86-83 win against JRU on Tuesday.

Coach Aric Del Rosario told the press after the game that the King Alta likely suffered a back spasm and he will not let him join the Friday showcase.

"Baka back spasm yun. Ewan ko kung gaano katagal yun. Baka di ko sya palaruin sa All-Star eh kasi baka lalong ma-injure yung likod niya at yung [ankle] sprain niya," Del Rosario said.

Del Rosario, however, revealed that Thompson wanted to play against the Heavy Bombers a week after spraining his ankle against the EAC Generals when he came back to practice on Monday.

The veteran mentor bared, "Sabi niya, 'Subukan ko kung makakatakbo ako.' Medyo maganda ang pakiramdam niya sa paa, kaya nakalaro siya nang ganun."

Thompson went for his third triple-double of Season 91, his fifth of his stellar college career, before going down with the back spasm.
