MANILA--Even a superstar from another sport made a plead to the fans to watch the Azkals' crucial FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Uzbekistan on Sept. 8.
Former UFC veteran and current One Championship star Brandon Vera joined the movement that hopes for a larger crowd turnout at the Philippine Sports Stadium in Bocaue for the September match.
Vera posted on his Facebook page, “Azkals vs Uzbekistan on Sept. 8 at the Philippine [Sports Stadium]. Watch it live!!! Ousss!!!!!”
Vera's call out came nearly a month after Azkals manager Dan Palami asked the non-football fans to watch the Azkals play.
