MANILA--Loyola became the first UFL club to publicly proclaim an offseason signing with the announcement of Arnel Amita's return to the club on Friday.

In an official release made by the club, Amita, who actually started his career with Loyola before spending a season with his fellow FEU Tamaraws at Manila Jeepney, is set for a second tour of duty with the club known as the Sparks.

"I'm really excited to have him back. He's one of the best homegrown talents I've seen," said team manager Armand Del Rosario in the official release about the return of the former Azkals' SEA Games team member, who led Jeepney's second round surge to escape relegation.

A perennial championship contender in the league, Loyola hit a jackpot last season by winning the PFF Smart Club Championship earlier this year. The club finished third in the league season.
