QUEZON CITY--Retaining the win-less record for the latter, the University of the East Red Warriors overpowers the Adamson University Soaring Falcons, 89-78, in another fierce and exciting match-up of UAAP Season 78 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Wednesday.
The Soaring Falcons steams on the first quarter as they took the lead against the Red Warriors. They held on a 20-26 run.
Meanwhile, the Red Warriors reborn on the second quarter as Chris Javier spearheaded their team on a 24-15 run, making them ahead of the Falcons, 44-41 as of halftime.
The margin between the two teams slimmed on the third quarter as the Falcons again tried to close in through fouls. The Warriors still defended their gain though up to the last minute.
Asked for a comment regarding their game, UE Red Warriors head coach Derrick Pumaren told the press: "We had to dig deep down for this win. We knew it wasn’t going to be easy playing Adamson".
The UE Red Warriors will face the Ateneo Blue Eagles this Saturday, while the Adamson Soaring Falcons will face the De La Salle Green Archers next Wednesday.
