JRU boosts Final Four hopes with rout of EAC

SAN JUAN, MM--JRU remained in the hunt for an NCAA semifinal spot with an 87-64 blowout of also-ran EAC at the FilOil Flying V Arena on Friday.

The Heavy Bombers went on a tear early into the match, opening a 25-7 lead after the first quarter, and cruised to the wire-to-wire victory.

Paolo Pontejos made 21 points for JRU, which is two games behind Arellano and Perpetual Help for third and fourth places. Arellano has a game at hand against San Sebastian later Friday.

Sidney Onwubere also had 21 markers for EAC, which further slipped to 2-11.
