QUEZON CITY--Titleholder National University took the solo lead after a 76-62 conquest of Adamson University in a duel of unbeaten teams on Sunday in the UAAP Season 78 women's basketball tournament at the Blue Eagle gym.
Reigning MVP Afril Bernardino, Risa Paig, Rinna Itesi and Jack Animam combined for 44 points as the Lady Bulldogs are now at 4-0 and have won 20 straight dating back from last year.
De La Salle, behind Camille Claro's 13 points, made it three in a row after a season-opening loss to NU by demolishing UP, 76-34, while UST downed Ateneo, 57-48, with Bettina Peñaflor scoring 14 points. The Lady Archers and the Tigresses improved to 3-1 alongside the Lady Falcons.
UE kept FEU winless with a 54-38 victory and move back to the .500 mark.
