Perpetual Help cruises to rout of Lyceum

SAN JUAN, MM--With Bright Akhuetie getting sidelined at halftime after injuring his left shoulder, Prince Eze took over.

Eze had 18 points, 19 rebounds, and six blocks as Perpetual Help clobbered Lyceum, 70-42, in the nightcap of the NCAA doubleheader at the FilOil Flying V Arena on Tuesday.

With the Pirates threatening to pull an encore of their near-comeback against the Mapua Cardinals in the first round after getting blown out after the first half, the Altas thwarted them defensively in the fourth quarter, limiting them to only seven points in the period as Eze anchored the stoppages.

J.J. Ylagan pulled off a career-high 15 markers along with two boards, two dimes, and two steals even as Scottie Thompson had another triple-double, his fourth this season, with 13 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists along with a steal and a block as Perpetual Help bounced back from a devastating defeat to Mapua in fashion.

Jebb Bulawan had a double-double of his own with 13 markers and 10 boards along with three swipes for Lyceum, who once again played minus Joseph Gabayni, who was suspended by the team management.
