MANILA--Despite missing out on a calendar year grand slam, Serena Williams can end her 2015 with a bang as she will headline the newly-renamed Philippine Mavericks in the second season of the IPTL, which will have its Philippine leg on Dec. 6 to 8 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Williams, who came two U.S. Open wins short of completing the sweep of the four big tournaments, will be joined by tennis legend Mark Philippoussis, Richard Gasquet, Sabine Lisicki, Jarmila Gajdosova, Borna Coric, and local star Treat Huey.

The Mavs will once again take on the Indian Aces, the UAE Royals, and the Singapore Slammers while getting a new challenge in the Japan Warriors.

“Last year’s run was nothing short of world-class and we expect even more for this year with an even bigger roster of tennis superstars,” said Gary Dujali, the marketing head of PLDT Home Fibr, one of the major sponsors of the IPTL.

As a treat to the tennis fans, PLDT will offer a 20 percent discount on those who will avail the PLDT Home Fibr from Sept. 12 to Oct. 30.

“At an exclusive deal, our Fibr-powered tennis aficionados will be able to witness the thrilling moments of their favorite international players in action,” added Dujali.
