MANILA--A video of an incident on the road went viral as soon as it was posted online. The video involved a guy holding a commemorative "Councilor" plate going ham after a confrontation early Sunday.
Some observed the resemblance of "Mr. Councilor" to a basketball player.
It turned out, he was indeed that baller.
The Ateneo Blue Eagles issued a statement on Monday night confirming that men's basketball team member John Apacible was the man who was on an outrage in the said video.
However, Athletic Director Emmanuel Fernandez clarified that Apacible, a sophomore forward who is the son of the late actor of the same name, had already apologized "to all parties concerned."
Despite the apology, Fernandez further clarified that the team management and the university itself "will deal with this regrettable incident appropriately and swiftly."
