PASAY—With Exe Biteng serving a one-game suspension, C.J. Isit stepped up for Mapua in its playoff against Arellano on Tuesday.

Even with Biteng returning on Friday night, Isit sizzled further.

The combo guard tallied 27 markers as the Cardinals took the third seed in the NCAA Final Four with an 81-76 against the JRU Heavy Bombers at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Isit led the Mapua charge early on, making 11 of his points in the first quarter and 16 at halftime as the team led, 38-32.

Teytey Teodoro and Marco Balagtas took over JRU in the second half as the team tied the game, 54-all and was within one, 70-71, midway in the fourth.

But the Cardinals held on as Isit found help from Darell Menina and Justin Serrano in the payoff period.

Isit added five steals, two rebounds, and one assist for Mapua, which will play Letran in the semifinals beginning Tuesday at the said venue.

Teodoro finished with 16 points for JRU, which fell to fourth place and will battle San Beda in the other pairing.
